Charissa leading yoga.

As a certified Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and Yoga Chaplain through Yoga Chapel, I bring a deeply spiritual approach to my practice. I view yoga as a sacred pathway to triple connection: with oneself, with the Divine, and with others. I believe our experiences on the mat mirror our life journeys—balance poses reflect life’s equilibrium, while our capacity for self-forgiveness on the mat extends to grace in daily interactions. My teaching emphasizes mindful presence, intentional breathing, and the profound connection between breath and movement. Drawing on the beautiful linguistic parallel that both Hebrew (ruah) and Greek (pneuma) words for “breath” also translate to “Spirit,” I create a sanctuary where practitioners can inhale healing energy while releasing what no longer serves them. My compassionate philosophy affirms that wherever you are in your practice is perfectly sufficient—you are enough, exactly as you are, in this moment—while encouraging authentic growth in a supportive, nurturing environment.
