Journal Confessions

This station equips people to face their own sin and brokenness.  It also helps them to find peace and forgiveness.  The beautiful part of this station is that once they have written down/expressed the nature of their sin and brokenness, and written a prayer of confession and pardon, they get to take it all to the shredder.  This symbol of God’s forgiveness and remembering our sin no more is freeing.

We live in a world of brokenness and sin, yet sin does not have the final say.  God is a God of forgiveness, healing, and unconditional love.  Let us be willing to come open before God.  (We may as well be open before God because God already knows us inside and out.)  In this willingness to be open and forthright we foster authentic relationship, making space for grace and healing in our lives.  Is this journal confessions something done once in our lives and then it is finished.  By no means.  Daily we step out of the balanced dance of life.  Daily we are in need of forgiveness and pardon.  May we be willing to keep coming to God in our brokenness and find healing and wholeness.  And may we grow in learning to love God, love our neighbor, love our selves and love creation in healthy and pure ways.  Lord, help us to see the world through your eyes.  And let us be as forgiving with ourselves and others as you are with us.  Thank you for loving us just as we are.  Thank you for loving us enough to not leave us there but be about the work of transformation in our lives.

Supplies needed:  Paper shredder(s), pens, Journal Confessions handout, and station directives posted.
